Textbook Exercises may be classified into four types:

A – exercises to make sure you understand the basic concepts just covered -
usually you can answer these questions without writing anything down
B – drill exercises to make sure you are doing the calculations correctly
C – applications to geometry and physics, these are the harder homework problems
D – advanced problems, often proofs of statements used in advanced math and
physics courses – these types of problems are sometimes assigned for extra credit
